AIA predicts nonresidential construction to rise 4.4 percent this year

The American Institue of Architects (AIA) Consensus Construction Forecast Panel is projecting that nonresidential construction spending will increase 4.4 percent this year — up from a forecast of 2.1 percent growth at the beginning of the year. This increase is predicted to accelerate to a 6.2 percent gain in 2013. The AIA says that despite many challenges, nonresidential construction activity has gotten off to a good start this year.
